Ross Godbehere serves as a Business Development Associate at Southern Power. In this role, he supports national‑market origination for large wholesale energy projects currently focused on natural gas. This includes assisting with power purchase agreements, diligence coordination, and contract execution for high capital projects. He also prepares deal status reports, proposals, and executive level presentations for senior management.
Prior to joining Southern Power, Ross was in Atlanta, GA as an Assistant Expediter for Burns & McDonnell. In this role, he operated as a consultant for Georgia Power. He has experience purchasing and analyzing a large portfolio of substation and transmission-line materials. He also assisted in the materials management of hundreds of GPC Capital Investment Projects. Furthermore, he worked with Palantir to develop new management systems that promoted automation and efficiency.
Ross’s first experience with Southern Company was as an Engineering Intern where he spent time with the Supply Chain Management teams across Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi Power.
Ross earned his bachelor’s degree in supply chain management from Auburn University.
He and his wife, Sadie, reside in Birmingham, AL with their energetic puppy named Millie.

Where do you call home? Birmingham, AL
What are your hobbies? I enjoy hunting and watching sports, especially Auburn football and basketball (enjoy can be a stretch). I like to stay active by lifting weights, running, and playing basketball. I also attempt to play golf and train my puppy. I love spending time at Lake Martin and 30A.
What’s the best vacation you’ve taken? The best vacation I’ve taken was to Italy with my family after I graduated college. Florence was my favorite city!
Favorite food. I love Mexican and Mediterranean food..
If you were stuck on an island, what three things would you bring? Flint/steel to start a fire, fishing line, and a machete.
Tell us something we might not know about you. I’ve hiked/climbed the Petit Peton mountain in Saint Lucia.
What is the last book you read? Lonesome Dove
Tell us something on your bucket list. Skydiving.
What is the first thing you’d buy if you won the lottery? Land for a hunting and sports compound.
What is your biggest pet peeve? Not closing a bag of chips!
Do you have a hidden talent? I can play some guitar.
What are you currently watching? Trying to watch Marshals (hard to beat the early seasons of Yellowstone).
