Phil Zicarelli

Phil Zicarelli serves as a business development manager in Southern Power’s Origination and Acquisitions organization. In this role, Phil is responsible for wholesale origination and customer care efforts in SPP, MISO and ERCOT.
Prior to joining Southern Power, Phil served in various roles at PowerSecure, spanning engineering, operations, and business development. In his most recent role, Phil was responsible for origination, prospecting, contracting and customer care for PowerSecure’s Public Power team. He has designed, managed and sold microgrids and distributed infrastructure projects in various energy markets. Prior to joining PowerSecure, Phil spent worked in Southern Company Services Engineering and Construction Services supporting the Southern Company fossil and hydro fleet as well as Southern Power sites for technical support.
Phil has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Alabama and an MBA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Phil is a native of Birmingham, Alabama, where he continues to reside with his wife.

What are your hobbies? Golf, travel, Peloton, University of Alabama sports and spending time with friends and family.
What’s the best vacation you’ve taken? A seven-day hiking trip with my wife across national parks in Utah, Arizona and Nevada.
Favorite food. Mediterranean or seafood.
If you were stuck on an island, what three things would you bring? A knife, a fishing rod and water.
Tell us something we might not know about you. I grew up within a mile of about half my family and down the street from my wife.
What is the last book you read? Shoe Dog by Phil Knight.

What is the first thing you’d buy if you won the lottery? A lake house.
